DM Slide with Melissa Brooks of the Aquadolls

The Aquadolls founder and emo-pop babe seamlessly transitioned from a successful album and tour to qauranqueen of virtual events.

Melissa Brooks has been through hell and back. I know that’s a cliché, but if you knew some of the shit she’s worked through in her time, you’d understand my use of it. But the singer-songwriter has only used her fall backs as fuel. A child of trauma and the internet, she’s the face of millennials who have finally had enough. Whether it’s autonomy, insecurity or Fuck boys, Melissa never fails to put her insecurities first and foremost; inviting you to do the same. And then together, you jam it away. Whether it’s with her band, The Aquadolls, or as a solo artist, she’s the definition of bedroom DIY. She recently released her first solo album, After Midnight, to complete adoration. I slid into her DM’s to catch up and talk the new album, memes and inclusivity. Check out our convo below!
